Linda's salty galettes

This is by far my favorite salty crackers recipe. It has few ingredients, but packs a punch. My friend's mom Linda gave me this recipe a few years ago and it's wonderful. You can enjoy them alone or with the topping of your choice. Here's what you'll need:
(makes about 16 dozens)

1 bottle of beer
1 egg
1 cup oil
1 tsp anise seeds
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp black pepper
a little less than a tsp of salt
3 cups flour + (maybe 3 1/2 to 4 cups, this is the type of recipe where you add as much flour as the batter will take)

Preheat the oven to 375F. In a large bowl, add all the ingredients except the flour, mix and add flour a few spoons at a time, until you have a smooth and elastic dough. Divide the dough then roll it out as thin as you can, it will shrink back, so don't worry (adding flour to help the dough not stick). Using a cookie cutter or knife, cut out the shapes that you like and lay on cookie sheet and bake till golden brown. Cool and enjoy, store in a air tight container.
