2 cans of Tuna
3 to 4 large kosher pickles – chopped very small
1 package of green onions – chopped very small
Onion-garlic powder
Pepper
Hot sauce or Harissa -optional (but I prefer it hot)
Mayonnaise (lots, we don't want dry tuna)
Let marinate an hour or two…it’ll be better
Now once ready, on a crispy baguette, slather on a nice amount of tuna, add on sliced tomatoes, pickles, lettuce and either kosher Swiss or bare with me, Swiss Kraft (sounds crazy, but tastes delicious). You can dig in right away or toast open-faced.
The second way to serve it is on two large pumpernickel slices, on the one side put some Dijon mustard then the tuna, on top of the tuna the cheese of your choice, on the other slice of bread your tomatoes, topped with slices of perfectly ripe avocado. Slice in half and enjoy.
This sandwich is perfect with a side order of chips and a beer.
