Pita chips

I love snacking but snacking doesn't love me back, so when I'm in the mood for something crunchy and savory I make my own chips from thin pita bread. It's very simple, takes about 15 minutes between the prep and baking and is absolutely delicious with anything from hummus spread to cheese and olives. Here's what you'll need:

3 thin kosher pitas (white or whole wheat) split apart
1/3 cup olive oil
spices for sprinkling over are:
oregano
paprika
garlic powder
onion powder
salt
pepper

Split apart the pita for extra crunch, but if you don't feel like it, you can use them as is too. Brush olive oil on both sides of the pita (you can brush one side only and save on the calories if you prefer) then sprinkle on all of the spices on one side. With a knife or pizza cutter cut your pita rounds into small wedges and lay on a covered baking sheet, then into a 400F preheated oven and bake for 3 to 4 minutes, then then over for another 2 minutes or so, be careful not to burn them. If you don`t feel like working too hard you can skip the cutting them and bake the pitas whole then break them apart once they've cooled.

Enjoy!
