People assume that to enjoy a good souvlaki there has to be chicken or meat inside it. I'm here to let you know that you can enjoy an amazing souvlaki with no meat at all. It's all about the veggies, the Feta and the tzatziki. If you really can't stand the idea of a meatless souvlaki, you can always add vegetarian chicken kabobs in your pita, the brand Yves makes some.
Here's what you'll need:
1 Greek style pita
3 to 4 tomato slices
5 to 6 cucumber slices
2 to 3 onion slices
1 tbsp tzatziki
2 slices of kosher Feta cheese
1 sprinkle of dried oregano
Warm up the pita in the oven, then add a dollop of tzatziki in the center, length wise, then a layer of tomato, followed by cucumber, onion and finally Feta, sprinkle the oregano, then fold 1/3 to the left, the other 1/3 to the right, it makes a type of cone to keep everything in place, serve along side salad and enjoy!
